Studio Caelo was founded by Lisa Town, an artist, photographer, designer and former landscape architect with over 20 years of experience in the creative world. Raised on a farm on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula, Lisa’s deep connection to nature began early. That connection continues to shape her work today, which explores how people experience beauty, space, and emotion, both in the natural world and within designed environments.
Her background is expansive and interdisciplinary. Lisa holds a B.A. in Art and is trained in design and photography. She spent over a decade as a landscape architect working on large-scale public work before shifting her focus to the visual arts, working across mediums including fashion photography, experiential installations, and leading the branding and illustration studio for Atelier Drome, a woman-owned multidisciplinary design firm in Seattle, WA.
Whether creating sculptural environments, immersive visuals, or quiet, expressive imagery, her work invites reflection and emotional presence. Described by many as “expressive” and “evocative,” Lisa’s work is grounded in a desire to share moments of awe, especially within those places that are often overlooked and even described as harsh, quiet, or isolated are where she feels most alive. Through Studio Caelo, she creates work that invites others to experience these environments not as cold or empty, but as deeply emotional, alive, and quietly spectacular.
